Eat Don’t Compete
Join me, Jazmine DeWees, as I embrace what seems like Eat Don’t Compete 2.0. Thank you for tuning in. This feels a lot like the evolution of the show you probably knew as the Eat with Her Don’t Compete with Her Podcast Show. Since 2018, I’ve set out on a journey to empower and inspire my audience by creating a safe space where we can come together, connect, and engage in real, vulnerable conversations. If you are reading about EDC, then I believe you are ready to take this journey with me. One of wellness, where I aid you in your journey and share the story of mine. I deliberately foster an environment where competition takes a backseat and authentic self-expression, faith and personal wellness takes the spotlight. Through candid discussions, guests share their journeys, struggles, and triumphs, encouraging listeners to embrace their own vulnerability. Tune in to Eat Don’t Compete for a refreshing approach to personal and spiritual growth. Let me discuss how we can become the version of ourselves we were always meant to be.

Please listen for full context for Part II. Each woman walked us through their incredible journey to motherhood. No mother is the same, and this was very present in the stories of these ladies.
I hope that you feel that you were a part of this conversation along with my amazing guest, they had a beautiful vulnerability that allowed sharing to be so pure and easy. Enjoy and listen until the end to hear each woman's powerful take away for you and how they stretch you with their call to action.

“My mother's gifts of courage to me were both large and small. The latter are woven so subtly into the fabric of my psyche that I can hardly distinguish where she stops and I begin.” Maya Angelou (Mom & Me & Mom)

Today’s show went a little differently, I did not have 1 guest on or even two...chileeee I had 4. Four incredible millennial mother’s spoke about motherhood, wanting and raising children and their own childhood experiences. We are not only talking about being mothers, we also discussed our own mothers and what we perceived their journeys to be. We also discussed the correlation between who our mothers were to us and who we wanted for our children.
It will inspire you to hear about the kind of mother Shakera grew up with, you can see how the ideal black woman shaped Shakera into the ideal black woman.
Claudia reflects the reality that many millennial women are facing in the 2021 workforce. It’s a challenge but she finds solicit in knowing that she is not the only one dealing with this challenge and that it’s the “new norm”.
Ashley explains to us the power of submission and how the mirroring ideals of what she believed was her mother’s weakness was actually what shaped Ashley and built her strength.
You guys must have to wait and hear how Phiara explains to us the cultural explanation and connection between the woman she became her own idea or realization of blackness. Trust me it will blow your mind.
Stay tuned for PART II dropping on Mother’s Day (CTA end of PART II), to hear more about healing… specifically about the power of healing well.

S3E9: Wealth and Worth: Working in Purpose and Walking in Passion

“Wealth is the ability to fully experience life.” Henry David Thoreau
In today's episode, I had the opportunity to interview another guest to conclude my Women's History Month series BECOMING: A Woman in History. I invited Arlene J. Lester to our show to discuss wealth and worth. Arlene is a Public Relations specialist and an author, just to name a few of the many hats she wears. In today's discussion Arlene walks us through how she arrived at this point in both her career and life's journey. We speak about how and when she became a woman, how "becoming" has played a role in her life, what wealth and worth means to her and how she attains it on her own terms and ultimately what's next. It was awesome to hear the humility attached to the wisdom that she possesses, without the arrogance her wealth of knowledge can easily be associated with. Listen until the end to hear her powerful CTA, as she challenges us to move from good to great.
I am looking forward to reading your reviews, seeing your subscriptions come in and reading your comments on this week's episode… Tune in now for an impactful conversation. Eat Don’t Compete is available at www.JazmineDeWees.com, Anchor, Spotify, Apple Podcast and wherever you listen to your podcast.
