We’re All Complex: Balancing God’s Calling and Being Authentically Me
Friday Sep 12, 2025
Friday Sep 12, 2025
In this episode of Eat Don’t Compete, I open up about what it really means to lean into who I truly am. Walking in authenticity can feel heavy when you’re carrying the weight of God’s assignment, but Psalm 139:14 reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (and some versions mention that we are all 'complex').
I share my heart on being nervous about how I show up in the world as I trust God’s design and live boldly in His calling. If you’ve ever felt the tension between who you think you should be and who God made you to be, this conversation is for you.
Tune in, take a deep breath, and be reminded: you are seen, known, and wonderfully made by God. You are different because that's the way God made you.

In this youth service message, Cheap Wisdom, I made an attempt at diving into what true, godly wisdom looks like according to James 3:13–17 and Proverbs 1:5–7. And the working definition I've derived is that "wisdom is the skill of discerning [insight into] how to [competently] act on the knowledge that leads to living in accordance to how God has designed for us as Christian to live.
Wisdom isn’t something we can buy cheaply or gain through shortcuts — it’s a Christian virtue that shapes how we live, decide, and discern. Together we’ll answer three key questions:
How not to get wisdom?
How we’ve settled for cheap wisdom?
How to pursue godly wisdom?
Using biblical examples, like Joseph’s choices in sharing his dreams, we’ll unpack what it means to walk in wisdom that honors God and leads to godly living.
