In this episode of Eat Don’t Compete, I unpack what real discipleship looks like—and why it’s more than just mentorship or role modeling. Discipleship is intentional. It’s spiritual. And it’s a lifelong process. Dr. Eric Mason said that discipleship is “lifelong process of learning and following Jesus, striving to live a life that reflects His teaching and character.”
This episode was important to me because I had the opportunity to reflect on my personal journey and how I was being discipled long before I even had the language for it. For many of us, the people who’ve poured wisdom into us over the years may not have called it “discipleship”—but if they were teaching us to walk more like Christ, isn’t that exactly what it was?
We explore what it means to honor those who came before us while walking in deeper revelation, and why we must resist the temptation to get ahead of ourselves when we receive new knowledge. Grace is essential.
I also dive into the three key pillars of discipleship outlined in the title):
Community – We are not formed in isolation. Don’t let the enemy trick you out of the benefits of living in community.
Correction – True love tells the truth. Pruning was always meant for long-term growth, rather than short-term comfort.
Commitment – Discipleship is daily, not just seasonal. Without the sacrifice of commitment, there comes a lack of appreciation. Commit to God and commit to being discipled, being a disciple and discipling others.
Three questions came up as a revelation that I believed the Lord wanted me to meditate on as I journeyed with him and initially began to learn more about discipleship.
(1) Who am I as a disciple;
(2) How am I being discipled; and
(3) Who am I discipling?
I believe He wanted me to share these with you today to evaluate where you are in relation to where he wants to take you. Be open to what he wants to say to you.
Scriptures covered include:Matthew 28:19–20 – The Great Commission and our call to make disciples.John 8:31 – Comparing the AMP and MSG versions to reveal deeper meaning in abiding in truth.John 15:8 (NLT) – What it means to bear fruit that multiplies through others.
This is a soul-shaping conversation for anyone growing in faith, spiritual maturity, or walking out their assignment as a disciple of Christ. Thank you for tuning in and journeying with me, it’s a privilege to walk alongside you, in faith.

Turning Back to God: The Blueprint So Far (Series Recap)
Wednesday May 28, 2025
Wednesday May 28, 2025
For this to have just been a recap… God really met us right here on the screen—and I'm so thankful. I'm glad I was led to open in prayer with and for you all. Honestly, that moment was a testimony in itself—evidence that God is peeling back the layers in real time.
This episode gave us space to pause and reflect on the spiritual journey we've been on so far—starting with salvation, moving through identity, growing in intimacy with God, and now diving deep into repentance and forgiveness. We’ve come too far to turn back now... lol but seriously.
I loved revisiting 2 Chronicles 7:14 to unpack what I call the 4-part formula for forgiveness:
1. Humble yourself
2. Pray to God (ask for forgiveness)
3. Seek Him continually
4. Turn from sinful ways
This episode is both a checkpoint and a heart check, getting us ready for what’s coming next: discipleship, prayer, and eventually, my personal testimony on becoming.
QOTD (Question of the Day): What are you petitioning God for in the areas of salvation, identity, intimacy, repentance or forgiveness?
Community Challenge: Go back through those areas of your life (salvation, identity, intimacy, repentance or forgiveness) and bring it to God in community so that he can challenge us to grow together.
Whether you’re just joining the series or have been walking with me step by step, this episode reminds you why rebuilding with God is worth it. Don’t miss it.

In this episode, Part 4 of the Blueprint of Becoming series, we explore the quiet, powerful invitation to repent and release what we were never meant to carry. The theme of this episode coincides directly with the unorthodox format and laid back atmosphere in which the episode was shot. God is intentional and he met us on the beach. Whether it’s unforgiveness, offense, or emotional weight you’ve held for too long—God is calling you to return and rest in His peace.
As I share how I’ve learned to take in the beauty around me and hand over the burden of bitterness, you’ll be reminded that repentance isn’t about shame—it’s about freedom. Repentance is about becoming in the way that you were meant to; the complexities journeying through simply being. Strengths, weaknesses and everything in between. I chose to shoot this episode where I was and God meant me where I was. When you choose to be in the mist of your offense, God will meet you right there. In the pain, God will meet you there. When it’s hard to forgive, God will meet you there. In spite of how you feel, God will meet you there. With folks almost knocking over the camera, with me not being formal in my approach, but simply "being"... The true blueprint of becoming is allowing God into the places that you think you have under control over. Because the truth is, we have no control. He is in control. Just welcome Him in, give him room to change the "room" and space to change your mind. Change your mind about offense and change your heart about forgiveness. He did it for me, so I know he can do it for you. And forgiveness isn’t letting someone off the hook—it’s setting yourself free.
🔹 Scriptures to Reflect On:
Matthew 6:14-15 – “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you…”
Ephesians 4:31-32 – “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger… forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Proverbs 19:11 – “A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.”
Isaiah 26:3 – “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Question of the Day:
Are you carrying the weight of unforgiveness in your life?
Community Challenge:
This week, take intentional time in prayer and reflection. Ask God to show you where offense or unforgiveness may still be lodged in your heart—and give it to Him. Let peace replace the pain and allow God to carry the heavy burden.
